PASCO, Wash.- Local Pumpkin Produce Box has been serving the Tri-Cities area since 2014, bringing organic and local goods to people’s door.
Owners Cathy and John Franklin have a passion for providing healthy food to the community, which is why they started bringing the farm to their customer’s door. Cathy said it was her husband’s entrepreneurial spirit that inspired them to use their two acres of land to start packing produce boxes with items from local businesses.
“We converted a 70-year-old barn into our warehouse and that’s what we work out of,” said Cathy.
Local Pumpkin has partnerships with local dairies, cheesemakers, soup makers and ranchers. They even started their own market garden.
“Some of the produce that we wanted to get locally was hard to get or wasn’t the greatest quality,” said John. “So, in the middle of the pandemic we decided to start a farm on our two acres.”
