KENNEWICK, Wash. – An early morning burglary at a card shop in Kennewick resulted in a mother and son being arrested, according to the Kennewick Police Department.
KPD says at 4:25 a.m., an alarm went off at On the Marq Sports Cards on West Gage Boulevard. The store’s owner checked surveillance cameras to see a man putting items into a garbage bag.
Officers arrived and chased the man for a short time and caught him in front of a parked car, which reportedly had his mom inside sitting in the passenger seat.
In the driver’s seat was a large pry bar and other tools, along with unopened trading cards and a plastic display case sitting in the back seat.
The mom reportedly denied knowing her son initially and was taken into custody with him for false reporting. Both were booked in the Benton County Jail.
