RICHLAND, Wash. – Police body camera footage has been obtained by NonStop Local, showing the arrest of off-duty Washington State Trooper Sarah Clasen on March 1.
Clasen was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide following a crash that resulted in the death of 20-year-old Jhoser Sanchez.
Clasen recounted her actions leading up to the crash. She stated that she was returning home after picking up a Domino’s pizza and was making a left turn.
She described seeing what she thought was a car with a headlight out and believed she had enough time to make the turn before feeling the impact.
Heid concluded that Clasen’s statements did not align with the crash scene evidence, and he noted a faint smell of alcohol. She was then placed under arrest, and Heid stated they would obtain a search warrant for a blood test to clarify any questions.
