PASCO, Wash. – The Benton Franklin Community Action Committee works to provide pathways out of poverty. The CAC helps low-income individuals and families become more self-sufficient by connecting them with partner agencies

Rosie Venzor, Administration and Second Chance Center Director said the Benton Franklin CAC has been around for 59 years. “We work with multiple partners that have the same goal in mind and that’s to help those who are in need,” said Venzor. Benton Franklin CAC offers assistance for electric, water gas and heat for your home. CAC also helps those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless by helping find stable housing. “We have a weatherization department that also helps low-income homeowners insulate their homes to reduce those electricity bills.”

Venzor said these services are essential to Benton and Franklin counties due to the cost of living increasing and people just trying to stay afloat while maintaining homes. “The services that we offer are for those who have those obstacles of maintaining their home along with the homeless people that have no other avenues or resources,” said Venzor.
