Benton County Republican Party donates to courthouse project

RICHLAND, Wash. – The Benton County Republican Party made a contribution to support local citizens by presenting a check to Prosecutor Eric Eisinger and his wife, Meghan Eisinger.

The check, amounting to $500, is designated for a project aimed at enhancing the family waiting room at the Benton County Courthouse. The presentation took place at the Island View Worship Center, just before the party’s monthly meeting.

Eric said the money will help when people make their way through the court system.

“They would prefer to be doing anything else, right? So, having a place that’s comfortable for them to sit down and to feel like they can relax a little bit, is really important,” he said. “We’re really thankful for the donation today.”

Meagan works as an interior designer and volunteers with the county, and Eric said she initially proposed the idea to create a more welcoming environment for families meeting with attorneys and prosecutors.

The money will go towards decorating the room where attorneys meet with women and children, adding toys, books and a more friendly environment.
