According to a new post by BCFD1, Benton PUD crew is on scene to cut power to properties in the area. Power lines run through the trees and the live wires pose a threat to firefighters. Kennewick Firefighters are also on scene.

According to BCFD1, the fire is under control and crews are mopping up.

Benton County Fire District 1 (BCFD1) is responding to a natural vegetation fire near E. Perkins and S. Dauge Rd.
Initial reports from BCFD1 indicate that a controlled burn became unmanageable due to high winds.
Flames are visible from Highway 397, prompting officials to advise avoiding the immediate area.
