KENNEWICK, Wash – Changes are in store for Ben Franklin Transit (BFT), the agency that provides public transportation to the Tri-Cities region.
BFT announced its 2025 Annual Service Plan was adopted during the agency’s February 13 board meeting.
The plan aims to enhance connectivity and address rider demand within the service area.
Changes include the introduction of Express Routes 2, 4, and 27, and increasing the frequency of Route 10 to every 30 minutes. Additionally, Route 20 will see an adjustment in frequency on Saturdays to hourly beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Changes to Saturday evening schedules are also planned. Routes 10, 26, 42, 48, 50, 65, and 170 will end service at 7:00 p.m., while Route 40 will extend its schedule to 10:00 p.m.
Route 41 will be adjusted to operate clockwise only with a 30-minute frequency on weekdays, reducing coverage in less productive areas along Hood Ave., Kennewick Ave., and 45th Ave. Route 47 will be realigned to eliminate unproductive areas and provide more frequent service to regions no longer covered by Route 41.
Further adjustments include realigning Route 65 to better serve Pasco High School and extending Route 67 to Burns Rd. and down to Rd. 84 and Argent. A new Route 68 will be introduced to complement Route 67 and replace Route 268. Additionally, a portion of Route 225 will be extended to serve the new Sageview High School.
