YAKIMA, Wash. – Better Future Finders, a local organization, is hosting a back-to-school giveaway at the Yakima Convention Center from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event, titled “Back to School with a Purpose,” aims to ensure students are prepared not only with supplies but also with essential skills for success.
Joshua Jaiyeola, Event and Outreach Coordinator and Youth Ambassador for Better Future Finders, explained the motivation behind the event. “We specifically chose to emphasize that there is a reason that we’re going to school. It’s not just “Oh, go, come home, go, come home,” he said. “There is something you’re trying to achieve.”
“If we can help you in any shape way or form, we will do that,” said Folo Ojo, also an Event and Outreach Coordinator and Youth Ambassador for the org.
The event is designed to provide a holistic approach to preparing for the school year, not only supplying materials but also offering seminars to help parents get ready for the upcoming academic year.
