ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Ellensburg Police Department are on the lookout for a suspect involved in an attempted abduction near a McDonald’s location. According to the official report, the suspect, driving a blue semi-truck, approached a group of girls and attempted to lure them into the vehicle.
The incident occurred when the truck stopped near the fast-food restaurant, and the driver reportedly tried to convince the girls to get inside the truck. Upon their refusal, the suspect followed them, prompting the girls to flee.
The girls successfully hid in a nearby yard after the suspect parked the truck and exited to search for them. Eventually, the suspect returned to the truck and left the scene.
Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to contact the department at 509-962-7280. Community members are advised to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
