KENNEWICK, Wash. – Atomic Alchemy and Metaphysical Market have teamed up to host a vibrant artisan market featuring 12 local vendors. With the holidays approaching, this market offers a variety of homemade products perfect for gift-giving.
Shannon Franklin, the main organizer of the market, also participated as a vendor selling her homemade goods. She shared her enthusiasm for the diverse offerings available at the market.
“We’ve got all kinds of goods. We’ve got some paper crafts; we’ve got lots of jewelry. I’ve got my handmade teas here that are organic blends. Lots of artwork and I got some leather goods. Just all kinds of variety,” said Franklin.
Franklin, a tea connoisseur, explained how her passion led her to create her own tea blends.
“I’m a tea connoisseur myself, so when I, I didn’t know of any local tea vendors. There actually are some now, but, before I didn’t, I didn’t really know of any. And I was like, you know, I can craft my own blends. And I have some that just fit differently like health purposes. I just like making stuff,” said Franklin.
She emphasized the importance of passion in being a small business owner.
“Creating my own product allows me to kind of put my own passion and my own, my own interest into, you know, a marketable form. So, I like making things that I enjoy that I think that others, you know, will enjoy. And so, I like to share with them,” said Franklin.
All 12 vendors at the market came from the Tri-Cities area. Franklin highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses for community growth.
“Local businesses are like such an important part of the community…Having a venue or, you know, some sort of outlet for these, these vendors sell their goods. It’s so important for the community. It really helps to, you know, it really does matter to support the locals,” said Franklin.
For those who missed the event, Franklin mentioned that a Winter Maker’s Market is planned for December 7th. More information about the upcoming market can be found on Atomic Alchemy’s website.
