Airbus, a leading European aircraft manufacturer, has announced immediate repairs for about 6,000 of its A320 family jets. This recall affects more than half of the global fleet and coincides with a busy travel weekend in the U.S.
The recall is due to concerns over intense solar radiation potentially corrupting critical flight control data. Airbus has stated that some planes will need to revert to previous software versions, while others may be offline for extended periods to receive new hardware.
While many U.S. airlines primarily use Boeing jets, some, including American Airlines and Delta, operate Airbus aircraft. This situation could impact travelers relying on these carriers during the peak travel period.
