TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Kathy Ruemmler, the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at Goldman Sachs, will be stepping down effective June 30, 2026, according to reports from the Associated Press.
Ruemmler, who previously served as White House counsel to President Barack Obama, resigned following the release of emails showing her close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the AP reports.
A Tri-Cities native, Ruemmler played a significant role in the Enron Task Force, one of the biggest federal cases in recent times.
Ruemmler, who began her education in the Richland School District, graduated from the University of Washington and Georgetown University Law Center.
She was appointed to the Enron Task Force in 2003, marking a pivotal point in her career.
