
WAPATO, Wash. – Washington State Patrol (WSP) continues to seek the public’s help in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of 31-year-old Jeffrey Bushman of Wapato.
Bushman’s body was found on Sunday, October 12, 2025, along State Route 97 near milepost 71.
WSP’s investigation determined that Bushman was struck by a vehicle that stopped briefly before fleeing the scene.
According to a new update today, the incident is believed to have occurred early in the morning on Saturday, October 11, 2025, between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
Parts of the suspect’s vehicle were left at the scene as well. The vehicle is believed to be gray or silver with possible front-end damage, including the headlight, turn signal and possibly the hood.
