Richland honors five educators with National Board Certification

RICHLAND, Wash. – The Richland School District has recognized five educators for achieving National Board Certification, a prestigious honor in the education profession.

The newly certified educators are Angela Forrester, an Early Learning Center teacher, Jessica Kinney, a science teacher at River’s Edge High School, Pamela Lucas, a first-grade teacher at Jason Lee Elementary, Sarah Sarver, a math teacher at Chief Joseph Middle School and Andrea Tamez, a first-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary.

National Board Certification is a voluntary assessment program that identifies teachers who meet the highest standards in their field. It highlights educators’ dedication to advancing student learning and refining instructional practices.

Superintendent Dr. Shelley Redinger expressed pride in the educators’ achievements.

“We are honored to recognize the educators who have achieved this certification,” she said. “This accomplishment reflects a strong commitment to professional excellence, ongoing learning and the high-quality instruction our students deserve.”
