Kennewick police arrest man for theft of flowers and chocolate ahead of Valentine’s Day

KENNEWICK, Wash. – A man was arrested on Friday evening in connection with a Valentine’s Day theft incident at a local business, according to the Kennewick Police Department (KPD).

Officers responded around 4:17 p.m. to a business in the 5200 block of West Clearwater Avenue, following a report of two male suspects who stole bouquets of flowers and chocolate worth more than $100 each.

After reviewing video footage, officers identified and located a 19-year-old suspect at his residence. He was taken into custody and booked into Benton County Jail on a third-degree theft charge.

The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to identify the second suspect, believed to be a juvenile.

KPD urged the remaining suspect to turn himself in to police by calling 509-628-0333.

“While we love our community showing love to their loved ones we request that you pay for your items,” KPD officials stated.
