KENNEWICK, Wash. – More than 170 FFA members from 13 chapters will gather at River View High School CTE Center in Finley on Friday, Feb. 27, to participate in the 2026 Lower Columbia Basin FFA Jamboree. This event celebrates National FFA Week by offering students the chance to compete in Career Development Events (CDEs) and Leadership Development Events (LDEs).

Participants will engage in 15 different events to build hands-on skills and leadership abilities. The events aim to prepare students for the upcoming Washington State FFA Convention in Pullman this May.

Chapters from Columbia Burbank, Chiawana, Connell, Finley, Kiona-Benton, Pasco, Richland, Selah, Grandview, Sageview, Touchet, Kittitas and New Horizons will take part in the jamboree. Events will include horse evaluation, tractor driving, veterinary science and more.

FFA advisors and event organizers emphasize the jamboree’s role in helping students refine technical knowledge and communication skills. They also highlight the importance of teamwork and feedback before district and state-level competitions.

The event relies on the support of community and industry partners. Sponsors for the 2026 jamboree include Franklin County Farm Bureau, Pepsi Cola and RDO Equipment, among others.

Jennifer Yochum, event organizer and Finley FFA Advisor, expressed gratitude to these sponsors for their commitment to agricultural education and student leadership.
