RICHLAND, Wash. – Members of the Richland Police Department, including Chief Marty Pilcher, took part in the 2026 Polar Plunge to support the Special Olympics.
According to the Richland Police Department, the event raises funds for the Special Olympics, which organizes numerous sporting events in Richland each year, benefiting local youth.
Chief Pilcher expressed his enthusiasm for the cause, saying, “I have had the opportunity to participate in the Polar Plunge in three states and the cold water is always worth it. Special Olympics helps our families, friends and neighbors participate in sporting activities in which they might not otherwise have the opportunity.”
He emphasized the honor of participating and representing both the City of Richland and the police department.
