WEST RICHLAND, Wash. — Pronto Puppy Rescue, a local animal rescue non-profit, received a $50,000 check on Saturday morning.
The award was part of a competition sponsored by Pet Smart, with Pronto Puppy Rescue being one of only three organizations across the U.S. and Canada to win.
The competition was fierce, with over a thousand different organizations vying for the prize. Becky Kettle-Gay, a board member at Pronto Puppy Rescue, expressed their gratitude for being selected.
“We feel incredibly blessed and still very much in shock. It’ll go towards infrastructure. It will go towards, some specialized training opportunity. It will go towards medical needs. We have a lot of plans and we’re we’re dreaming big,” Kettle-Gay said.
Founded in 2018, Pronto Puppy Rescue operates as a foster-based organization and hosts multiple adoption events each month.
