Federal judge to decide on halting ICE operation in Minneapolis amid lawsuit

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – A federal judge is considering a decision on whether to halt the recent surge of ICE agents in Minnesota, as shockwaves and blame on all sides continue to ring across the country after two U.S. citizens were shot and killed by ICE agents in the month of January.

During a hearing on Monday morning, the state’s Attorney General argued that President Donald Trump is attempting to coerce the state into adopting his immigration policies.

In response, the federal government’s attorney argued that the operation in Minnesota was in response to a lack of cooperation.

The judge must now decide whether to temporarily halt the ICE operation in Minneapolis as the lawsuit, which was filed by the state after the killing of Renee Nicole Good, proceeds.
