Yakima Memorial Hospital workers to strike amid ongoing negotiations

YAKIMA, Wash. – Workers at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital are preparing to strike as negotiations with the hospital continue.

The 168 workers, represented by Teamsters Local Union 760, have been in talks with the hospital since early 2025. However, no agreement has been reached.

Hospital workers express frustration over cuts to retirement benefits and claim the hospital is prioritizing profits over patient care improvements.

In response, the hospital states that its benefits are market competitive and commits to ongoing negotiations with the union. They assure the community that the hospital will remain open and fully staffed during the strike.

The strike is set to begin tomorrow, marking a significant moment in the ongoing discussions between the hospital and its workers.
