WASHINGTON, D.C. – The State Department announced a significant increase in visa revocations for 2025, totaling more than 100,000 visas.
This marks a 150% increase compared to 2024.
The department stated that the revocations targeted foreign nationals who were “charged or convicted with crimes.”
The majority of these revocations affected business and tourist travelers who overstayed their visas. However, thousands of students and specialized workers also lost their legal status.
