Starlink, the satellite internet company owned by billionaire Elon Musk, announced it would be providing free broadband internet service in Venezuela following U.S. strikes and disruption in the region.
The United States carried out an operation in Venezuela in the early morning hours Saturday that led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro as a handful of explosions rang out through the country’s capital. Maduro was transported to a detention center in New York and reportedly faces drug trafficking and firearm charges.
Starlink made the announcement on Saturday, and said that it would offer the service in Venezuela through February 3.
