YAKIMA, Wash. – On Friday, the technical employees of the MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital announced the authorization of a strike.
A news release from the union states the vote was overwhelmingly positive, with a 95% yes vote.
“Since taking over Memorial Hospital in 2023, MultiCare has reduced the hospital employees’ medical coverage for their families, made cuts to their retirement benefits, reduced their PTO accruals and reduced their pay levels for incentives,” the release claimed.
