BENTON CITY, Wash. – Flooding in Benton City has worsened, forcing evacuations at Beach RV Park. City crews and volunteers have come together to assist residents in moving out.

City officials identified Beach RV Park as one of the hardest-hit areas. The space previously occupied by trailers is now submerged in water.

Evacuation notices were sent earlier this week. For those unable to move in time, crews and volunteers have been working tirelessly to help relocate belongings and trailers out of the water.

Zach Prindle, an employee of Benton City highlighted the community’s support. “We had three different towing outfits. Come and do everything for free. Almost everybody but the 3 or 4 people you saw here today was a volunteer or a local resident. So, I mean, so many kudos out to all those people,” said Prindle.

Residents not living in the park have also volunteered, offering assistance in loading trucks and moving items through the water. William Lakey, a Benton City resident, expressed his commitment to helping neighbors, saying, “For me, it’s like being a local here in Benton City is just another opportunity to show everybody. Hey, I’m here for you.”

City crews have been on site since 8:00 p.m. last night, assisting with the relocation of trailers and items left behind. They have no estimated end time for their efforts, but they are committed to working until the job is complete. The focus remains on the areas at highest risk.

Benton City urges anyone still needing assistance to contact Benton City or Benton County Emergency Services. They emphasize that resources are still available for those in need.
