
YAKIMA, Wash. – A house near Yakima was evacuated after a flaming vehicle crashed into one of its bedrooms, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
The office said it dispatched deputies to the scene around 1:49 a.m. on December 6. When they arrived at the house, which was in the 6000 block of Ahtanum Road, they found a car on fire that had crashed into a bedroom wall.
The driver and four occupants of the house were quickly evacuated from the scene and given medical attention.
Before fire personnel arrived, the fire from the car spread to the house. The fire was eventually extinguished, but left the house uninhabitable, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver was arrested for driving under the influence. No injuries were reported by the Yakima Sheriff’s Office.
