YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – A man was arrested on November 12 on charges of rape, assault and kidnapping after allegedly driving a woman out of town against her will and forcing her to perform sexual acts at gunpoint.
According to court documents, the woman told police she was an escort and the man was a previous client. She told police that she’d taken his sunglasses a few weeks prior and not seen him since.
The man drove to her house on November 12, and she got into his car, according to court documents. As they were driving, the woman reported that he began to ask her about the stolen sunglasses.
The man reportedly told her not to open the car door as he began to drive on Highway 12 toward Naches and that he had a gun.
The woman called police by using an emergency dial feature on her phone. She told police when they arrived that the man had placed a gun to her head to force her to perform sex acts while they were driving and after parking in a gravel lot off Eschbach Road.
A 9mm pistol was found on the man’s person by police.
The man told police following his arrest that he drove to her house specifically to ask about the sunglasses, and admitted that he was going to drive her to Naches as retribution. He denied that the sex acts were non-consensual.
The man was arrested for first-degree rape, assault and kidnapping. The woman was transported to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
