Oktoberfest close to home: Check out Magill’s Restaurant

PASCO, Wash. – There’s no need to travel all the way to Germany for Oktoberfest, when one local restaurant is celebrating it all week long.

Magill’s Restaurant and Catering is hosting a full week of German food, beers and tradition for anyone to come in and enjoy. Lasting until this Sunday, patrons can expect a full menu of items, ranging from potato pancakes to fresh pretzels and ground mustard.

Andrew Chilton owns and oversees Magill’s with the help of his mother, Brenda. The Washington State University graduate says the event reflects the Germanic history of the building.

The building was once known as the Heidi Haus and sat on West Court Street. In 1996, the building was split into three pieces and hauled by truck to its new location on Road 68, where it sits to this day.

Chilton says the building reflects much of what you would find in Leavenworth, with its large wooden beams and Bavarian facade.

While this is the first year that Chilton has decided to try out Oktoberfest, he wants to make it a reoccurring event. That includes music, festive clothing, festivities and more.

Magill’s is open to the public this Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
