YAKIMA, Wash. – The City of Yakima is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to implement an Adopt-A-Block program, connecting volunteers with spaces to be cleaned up and looked after.
“We are in the initial phase of getting the program up and going,” City Manager Vicki Baker said at a City Council meeting earlier this month.
While the program may be rolled out slowly, the process has begun.
According to the Adopt-A-Block website, 3 blocks downtown have already been adopted.
Residents or organizations who wish to join the program must first submit an application online. After approval, you can select a block to adopt.
