KENNEWICK, Wash. – A fire south of the Benton County Fairgrounds damaged a single-story home Monday night.
According to Benton County Fire District 1, the fire in the 1000 block of E. 19th Ave started in the attic and was contained in a utility room.
By 7:45 p.m., the fire was extinguished, with crews remaining to mop up for several hours.
A family who lives in the home evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
The Kennewick Fire Department, Benton PUD, and Tri-Cities Chaplaincy assisted in managing the situation.
