
KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick Police Department’s (KPD) Criminal Apprehension Team executed a search warrant in the 10000 block of Ridgeline Drive, according to a Facebook post from KPD.
The operation was supported by Tri-City Regional SWAT members, the METRO Drug Task Force, and detectives from the KPD Criminal Investigations Division.
During the operation, 18-year-old Ramiro Campos-Castro was detained without incident.
Inside the apartment, officers found a stolen firearm. Campos-Castro was subsequently arrested and booked into Benton County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen Firearm.
In a statement, KPD emphasized their commitment to public safety.
“Our officers and detectives across all divisions, in partnership and coordination with other regional agencies, will continue to vigorously investigate crimes like these that can endanger public safety and ultimately lead to more victims,” said KPD.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts to address firearms in the possession of individuals with criminal intent.
