PASCO, Wash. – Tri-Cities Airport is set for changes as Avelo Airlines halts its West Coast flights, but Breeze Airways will take over the Los Angeles route.
Airport Director Buck Taft confirmed that Breeze Airways will begin operations from Pasco on March 18, 2026, offering two weekly flights to Burbank, California, with a connecting flight to Provo, Utah.
Taft explained that Provo has been a desired destination for the community. Avelo Airlines will cease operations at Tri-Cities Airport on December 2, 2025. Taft expressed optimism about the new partnership with Breeze Airways. “Breeze has been very successful on the East Coast and I believe they’re going to continue that success out here and our community,” he said.
Despite Avelo’s departure in December, Alaska Airlines will continue its flights, ensuring no disruption to holiday travel.
Taft emphasized that airlines often change their offerings without consulting individual airports. However Breeze was an immediate replacement, making their takeover noteworthy. “Normally when someone leaves, no one comes in and fills it… So this was unusual, but I think it speaks to the strength of our market,” Taft stated.
With these upcoming changes, the community can expect new travel opportunities without any anticipated delays.
