Officers arrest man who lit own car on fire at Kennewick park

KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kennewick Police arrested a man late Saturday night at the Columbia Park East Boat Launch after he allegedly lit his own car on fire.

KPD says just after 11:30 p.m., officers were sent to the park to help fire crews with the fire. Upon arrival, they spoke with the person who called in the fire and owned the car.

An investigation found that the man had allegedly lit his own car on fire with gasoline and a lighter.

He was arrested and booked into jail on a second-degree arson charge.
