Pasco Senator Nikki Torres joins Washington State Women’s Commission

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Sen. Nikki Torres (R-Pasco) has been appointed to serve as a legislative advisor to the Washington State Women’s Commission.

This appointment marks the first time a new legislator has joined the commission since 2021, said a release by the commission.

The Women’s Commission is an executive branch cabinet agency that acts as the primary voice in government for women and girls throughout Washington. It focuses on developing policies and initiatives to address critical issues affecting them.

Sen. Torres expressed her enthusiasm for joining the commission.

“As a first-generation Latina, I am excited to bring a fresh perspective that will contribute to and strengthen the important work the commission is doing to uplift and empower women across the state.” Sen. Torres said.

The commission said the appointment of Sen. Torres is expected to bring new insights and perspectives to the commission’s efforts in addressing the needs of women in Washington.
