Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries, Spring Book Sale

KENNEWICK, Wash.- The Friends of the Mid-Columbia Libraries is an independent nonprofit supporting and enhancing the programming and events at Mid-Columbia Libraries.

Sara Schwan, Advocacy & Development Manager with Friends of MCL, said their donations allow Mid-Columbia Libraries provide more enriched events. Things like prizes, books and performers that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to pay for using taxpayer dollars.

Friends of the Mid-Columbia Libraries is funded through donations and fundraisers. One of those being the Spring Book Sale, coming up April 30.

“The book sales are the main moneymaker for our friends in the library,” said Schwan. “You can find new things that can be a great way to enhance a classroom library, a home library or just buy new books.”

The Spring Book Sale is completely volunteer-run. It will be hosted at the Kennewick Branch at 1620 S. Union St. All funds will stay local and be used for programs at Mid-Columbia Libraries around our region.

Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries are always looking for new friends or volunteers. You can make donations monetarily or through book donations.
