YAKIMA, Wash. – A spring craft fair was held in downtown Yakima, drawing a crowd eager to celebrate the season and support local artisans. The event was hosted by Encore Books, marking its first spring craft fair.
Kerstin Luisi, the owner of Encore Books, shared her excitement about the event’s popularity.
“Everybody from around here was excited and we started signing people up a couple of months ago. So it was really popular,” she said.
The craft fair featured a variety of local vendors showcasing their homemade products. Luisi expressed her passion for organizing such events, emphasizing the joy of crafting and community involvement.
“Just working with your hands. So anything homemade and crafting is kind of something everybody can relate to. And so I feel my passion is just bringing those people together just to bring out in the community,” Luisi explained.
Despite being a first-time event, Luisi noted the impressive turnout, with between 400 and 500 attendees signing up for the craft fair. She highlighted the importance of events like these for supporting small businesses and fostering community spirit.
“I think it’s important to support small businesses for our local and our community because that’s who supports each other. You’re not going to get that support from anyone else other than your community,” she said.
The spring craft fair in Yakima not only celebrated the season but also strengthened community ties and provided a platform for local businesses to shine. More information about future events by Encore Books can be found on their website.
