BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – Firefighters across Benton, Franklin, Yakima, Kittitas, Walla Walla counties and elsewhere are gearing up for a challenging climb in support of blood cancer patients.
On Sunday, March 9, 2025, 2,000 firefighters will converge at the Columbia Center in Seattle for the Firefighter Stairclimb, organized by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
They will tackle the 788-foot vertical climb to raise funds and awareness for blood cancer research and patient services.
Community members are encouraged to support these firefighters’ efforts by donating to their cause, with proceeds going towards their donation goals.
Firefighters from the Richland, Pasco, Kennewick, Walla Walla, Yakima, Benton County and Kittitas County fire departments plan to participate. To see the entire list, we’ve set up a link.
