YAKIMA, Wash. – The City of Yakima’s Refuse Division is reminding residents that weekly yard waste pick-up has resumed and will continue through November 30.
The collection focuses on grass clippings, leaves, and small branches. The city says branches should be cut into lengths of 3 feet or less and must not exceed 3 inches in diameter. All yard waste must fit inside the cart with the lid closed.
Items not accepted include garbage, plastic bags, food scraps, animal waste, ashes, sod, building materials, and large tree trunks or branches. These items are considered contaminants by the Yakima County landfill.
For more information or to make changes to your yard waste collection, visit the Division’s yard waste collection website or call 509-575-6005.
Residents can also use the City’s Solid Waste Pickup Day Lookup Tool, which offers an interactive map to find scheduled refuse and yard waste pickup days for specific addresses.
