PASCO, Wash. – The Tri-Cities Airport has closed Runway 12/30 and parts of several taxiways until November for construction, according to a new release.
The project strives to meet new federal safety standards by shifting the runway 200 feet north and adding a new airfield service road.
During this period, all flights will use the airport’s 3L/21R runway. Although the closure won’t impact travelers, residents between Road 68 and the airport might notice increased airplane noise.
The construction involves closing sections of Taxiways D, E, and G. The airport assures that these changes are necessary for safety compliance and infrastructure improvement.
