SUMMITVIEW, Wash. – A fire damaged a home in the Yakima County town of Summitview Wednesday morning, February 19.
West Valley fire crews responded to the fire along Summitview Road and made sure the fire didn’t spread from the attic of the home.
Someone inside the home at the time of the fire was able to put out some of the flames with a fire extinguisher, said Deputy Fire Chief Jim Johnston.
The home sustained minimal damage and no injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty light mounted in the ceiling.
