
KENNEWICK, Wash. – An investigation into a malicious mischief incident today at 1:16 a.m. led to the arrest of an 18-year-old for several charges including trespassing an unlawful possession of a firearm.
Kennewick police officers left to investigate a report of multiple men spray painting walls at a house under construction near the 6900 block of West 22nd Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a blue SUV matching a description given to them in the report. They pulled the SUV over nearby at West 23rd Central.
Their investigation into the spray painting found that fresh gang graffiti was added.
When Kennewick police officers pulled the SUV over, they asked one of the suspects to step out of the vehicle. They identified the 18-year-old who stepped out but, as they frisked him for weapons, he tried to run away.
Officers caught him and brought him into custody. When they restrained him, they found a black Glock handgun with a loaded extended magazine.
The 18-year-old was booked into Benton County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm, false reporting, resisting arrest, obstruction and trespassing.
Officers also arrested the other passenger in the car, 45-year-old Alvin Guajardo for trespassing.
