YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – A 12-year-old is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a work truck in Yakima County.
The incident occurred this morning at South Fair Avenue and East Maple Street. According to Yakima police, the truck driver did not see the child crossing in a marked crosswalk.
The child was taken to the hospital for treatment of a possible head injury. Police are currently investigating the incident.
The road has been reopened, and the community is hopeful for the child’s quick recovery.
