1 transported to the hospital after condo fire in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. – UPDATE: 3:45 p.m.

According to Chad Michael, Fire Chief with Kennewick Fire Department (KFD), crews responded to the scene around 1:20 p.m. and extinguished the flames.

Chief Michael said two people were inside the condominium at the time of the fire and managed to evacuate. One person was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The condo sustained significant damage and a nearby condo also suffered heat and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and is under investigation by KFD.

Pasco Fire, Benton County Fire District #1, and Benton County Fire District #2 assisted KFD in responding to the incident.

The Kennewick Fire Department and Pasco Fire Department are responding to a residential structure fire in the area of West 4th Place and South Quincy Street according to a release.

The community is asked to avoid the area.

Nonstop Local personnel on scene can see smoke coming from the building.

Quincy Street is closed from West 4th Ave to West 5th Ave.
