One person was found dead inside a house fire on West I Street in Yakima on Thursday morning, according to the Yakima Fire Department.
The house was fully engulfed in flames when crews first arrived. In a social media post at 7:09 a.m., YFD said that the fire had been brought under control and the scene was secure.
“The home had no working smoke alarms,” YFD said. “Your City of Yakima Fire Department urges you to please ensure that your home has working smoke alarms.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
